Kingman |
Located in northwestern Arizona, it is commonly called "The Heart of Historic Route 66" because its' location on the longest unbroken stretch of Route 66. It is the county seat of the Mohave County and is is the fifth largest county in the United States.
Fun things to do include Arizona Route 66 Museum, The Kingman Electric Car Museum, The Kingman Railroad Museum, plus a section of a former wagon route used in the 1800s. Located on I-40, Historic Route 66, and US 93 which goes to Las Vegas and Phoenix,. It will soon have Interstate 11 going right through it.
The Kingman Regional Medical Center serves much of northwest Arizona along with a wide variety of other health providers in the area. Retirees like the convenience of all the services. |

Canyon de Chelly National Monument |
Canyon de Chelly National Monument is an 83,840 acre area that is one of the longest continuously inhabited places in North America: people have lived here for almost 5,000 years. Located within the boundaries of the Navajo Nation, it was established as a part of the National Park Service in 1931 although none of the land is owned by the U.S. Federal Government. |

Saguaro National Park |
The giant saguaro, a well-known symbol of the American West, grows in very few places in the United States. Located near Tucson, in the heart of the Sonoran desert, at about 2,400 feet above sea level, it is one of the top Arizona attractions. The photo shown above is a rare snowy morning in Saguaro National Park's Cactus Forest, one of the hottest and driest regions on the continent. In a typical year, less than 12 inches of rain fall in the area. Summer temperatures commonly climb above 100F, while winters range from the 40's to 60's, all contributing factors to this desert's climate. |

Meteor Crate |
|
Barringer Crater, often referred to as meteor crater is near Winslow, Arizona. The big hole is 4,100 feet in diameter and 570 feet deep. It was created about 50,000 years ago by an asteroid about 130 feet wide. Scientists believe that the asteroid was a part of a larger asteroid that broke apart while passing through the atmosphere. |

Grand Canyon National Park |
